Mission Statement

The Ki-low-na Friendship Society will provide support for the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of Aboriginal people through the development of community- based services, while providing a gathering place that encourages Aboriginal people and the community, to preserve, share and promote Aboriginal cultural distinctiveness.

Ki-Low-Na means grizzly bear in the Okanogan language, which is reflected in their logo.

History

Locals saw a need for a gathering place for Aboriginal peoples in the Central Okanogan.  The Ki-low-na Friendship Society was incorporated in 1974, and recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary
